“The Monster and Gus” by Zoey Schwartz
The Monster and Gus is a book written and illustrated by Zoey Schwartz as a part of a Girl Scout Gold Award Project. The goal of the book is to explain OCD in a way that is tangible for siblings and children struggling with a diagnosis. As Gus struggles with his OCD monster, his journey with fighting back against the monster is representative of methods like exposure therapy. Are you attending the Newport Beach Film Festival? If so, look out for a screening of UNSTUCK: an OCD Kids Movie on Saturday, April 28 at 1pm during the festival. UNSTUCK focuses on how six children with OCD learned to fight their fears and regain control of their lives. The film’s Producer, Chris Baier, will be in attendance.

Join OCD SoCal for our 1 Million Steps 4 OCD walks in San Diego, Los Angeles, or Orange County on June 2, 2018 to raise awareness, hope, and funds to the support the IOCDF and its local affiliates!
