In its 6th year, this free, fun, family-friendly event will feature OCD success stories, interactive activities, educational resources and a ¾ mile walk in support of IOCDF’s “One Million Steps for OCD.” All are welcome! OCD Southern California, an official affiliate of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), is always honored to participate in the “One Million Steps for OCD Walks” each year. This year, we kicked off our first OCD SoCal walk on Saturday, June 6th at the La Jolla Shores Hotel in San Diego, CA!
Attendees included OCD SoCal board members, members of our San Diego Regional Council, volunteers, people with OCD, their family and friends, and more! They all reported having a great time at the OCD Awareness Walk in San Diego including representing their official walk t-shirts with pride, visiting the info booths, and mingling with others in similar situations with OCD.
Around 100 walkers joined the event and raised approximately $2,400 to support IOCDF’s programs and outreach efforts. Thank you to everyone who showed up, donated, and helped create a successful event!

Earlier this year we held two OCD walks! There will be two more local walks in Southern California this October! They are in Ventura County and Santa Clarita. You do not have to be in the Los Angeles area to enjoy these walks; anyone from anywhere can join! These walks raise awareness and resources for both OCD SoCal and then for the International OCD Foundation (http://www.iocdf.org) as well.
Everything raised will go towards OCD research, event scholarships, local events and conferences, accessible care, and more! Walk Route: .5 mile loops around the park. The path is flat and mostly paved with a short dirt path section.
The initial meeting of all walkers will take place at the Picnic Pavilion right next to the playgrounds. There are parking lots for the park and can be found on both Mountain Trail St and Mountain Meadows Dr. If the lots are full, people can park in the Vons parking lot and walk across the street at 4241 Tierra Rejada Rd, Moorpark, CA 93021.
