A Free OCD Support Group For Adults Is Starting In San Diego On June 7th!

A FREE OCD Support Group, for adults with OCD, is starting in San Diego on Monday, June 7th! The group will continue to meet monthly on the first Monday of each month, from 7-8:30pm.  For now the group will be virtual on Zoom, but will be in person in the next few months (location TBD). 

The group is currently being offered to an individual with OCD, but will be opening up to family members and loved ones of people with OCD eventually.

Deadline To Propose a Breakout Session at Our July 31st Virtual Conference is Saturday, May 1st, 2021!

OCD SoCal is still accepting proposals for break out sessions for our fifth annual OCD Southern California Conference. This conference is an opportunity to learn more about obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and its treatment, provide support for individuals with OCD and their families, and gain practical knowledge about a variety of issues that may arise with OCD and related disorders. 

The 2021 conference will be a virtual conference, and we expect attendees from other affiliates to attend.  We also welcome submissions from professionals outside of California.

Who attends this conference?

This event is designed for individuals affected by OCD and related disorders as well as their families. We also encourage clinicians, researchers, and students interested in learning more about OCD to attend.

Who should submit a proposal?

We are looking for presenters with a breadth of personal and professional experiences with OCD and related disorders includeding OCD therapists, psychiatrists, individuals affected by OCD and related disorders, as well as family members.

What topics are appropriate for break out sessions?

Introductory, as well as advanced material on OCD and related disorders.

What is the format for break out sessions?

Each breakout session will be one hour and fifteen minutes.  We recommend the final thirty minutes of the presentation be left for audience questions. Breakout sessions will be held in the afternoon following the keynote presentation. 

When is the deadline to submit my proposal?

The deadline to submit a proposal is May 1, 2021

When will I hear if my proposal was accepted? 

Presenters will be notified regarding whether their proposal was accepted by May 28, 2021.

What submission materials are required?

  1. Abstract:Please submit a title and brief abstract describing your presentation as well as intended audience (maximum 200 words).  Please include three objectives for the audience.
  2. Bio:Please submit a brief (short paragraph) biography describing your background and experience with OCD and/or OCD-Related disorders. 
  3. CV (professionals only)

OCD Southern California is holding our 5th annual OCD Conference Virtually on Saturday, July 31st at 9am!

OCD Southern California is proud to be holding our 5th Annual OCD Conference. This event will occur on Saturday, July 31st, at 9 am – 5 pm PST. Our last conference had over 400 attendees. We look forward to expanding the conference reach to more individuals now that we are utilizing a virtual platform! The conference will start with a keynote presentation featuring a message of hope from individuals who have successfully managed their OCD. Once the keynote concludes, we will be showcasing an OCD-themed documentary during lunch. Then following the viewing, there are multiple breakout rooms in the afternoon. These breakout sessions will include presentations from over 30 top doctors, psychiatrists, therapists, and advocates who focus on treating OCD and related disorders. There will also be information booths from treatment centers and community events at the conference to meet and gain support from other attendees.

Further information to come soon to our website; we look forward to you joining us! This conference is also open to people outside of the Southern California area. It is the perfect event for individuals with OCD and related disorders, their families and loved ones, and clinicians!
