Early Bird Registration Now Open for OCD SoCal’s 6th Annual Virtual Conference on April 30!

Join Us for the Sixth Annual OCD Southern California Conference- A Virtual Event!

About this event

Join us for the 6th annual OCD Southern California conference–a virtual event this year! We are thrilled to present a diverse panel of keynote speakers who will share their inspirational stories about their struggles and triumphs with OCD.

Following the keynote speakers, there will be a total of 30 break-out sessions offered during three consecutive time slots. Ten breakout sessions will be offered during each time slot; there will be seven presentations available for CE units during the conference. More information about our presentations, led by some of the top OCD experts in the United States, will be posted on our website in the next few weeks: ocdsocal.org. The conference will end with a Summary Q&A Panel.

Up to 5 CEs available for LMFT, LPCC, LCSW and psychologists.

Cost: $20.00 for Early Bird Special – ends March 8! Cost will increase to $35.00 on March 9. Cost is per screen. Register via our EventBrite link here.

To obtain CEs, the cost for the conference entrance is $20 (Early Bird)- $35 and the cost for the CEs is $50 for a total of $70 (early bird) or $85 (regular registration period).

Deadline extended! OCD SoCal Virtual Conference Call for Proposals

We have extended the deadline to submit proposals to February 15!

Thank you for reaching out to us! We know that many of you are passionate about submitting a proposal to speak at our upcoming conference. We are extending our due date as we recognize that our original deadline is so close to the IOCDF conference submission deadline. We are so happy that so many of you plan to participate in our annual conference and we want to give everyone the opportunity to send a proposal!

OCD SoCal will continue to accept proposals for our sixth annual OCD Southern California Conference until February 15. This conference is an opportunity to learn more about obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and its treatment, provide support for individuals with OCD and their families, and gain practical knowledge about a variety of issues that may arise with OCD and related disorders.

The 2022 conference will be a virtual conference, taking place on April 30th, 2022 from 9am-6pm PST. We expect attendees from other affiliates to attend, and we welcome submissions from professionals outside of California. The deadline for proposals is February 15, 2022.

Who attends this conference?

This event is particularly designed for individuals affected by OCD and related disorders as well as their families, however, we encourage clinicians, researchers, and students interested in learning more about OCD to attend. Conference attendees often include individuals with a great deal of experience with OCD as well as individuals and family members who may just be learning about the disorder and its treatment.

Who should submit a proposal?

We are looking for presenters with a breadth of personal and professional experiences with OCD and related disorders. In the past, our speakers have included OCD therapists, psychiatrists, individuals affected by OCD and related disorders, as well as family members. If you choose to submit as a panel, please limit participants to five members.

What topics are appropriate for break out sessions?

You are welcome to propose your own topic that you feel will be of interest to attendees. Past topics have included: overview of OCD, OCD and families, taboo topics, OCD related disorders, recovery from OCD, ACT and mindfulness, medications, and ERP experiential workshop. Based on attendee feedback from past conferences, we particularly encourage submissions on the following topics:

  • Finding treatment resources/connecting to care
  • OCD and comorbidities
  • OCD subtypes
  • Lived experience/disclosure/self-advocacy issues
  • Support for family members of children and adults with OCD
  • Therapist-focused workshops

What is the format for break out sessions?

Each breakout session will be one hour and fifteen minutes. We recommend the final thirty minutes of the presentation be left for audience questions. Breakout sessions will be held in the afternoon following the keynote presentation.

When is the deadline to submit a proposal?

The deadline to submit a proposal is February 15, 2022

When will a presenter know if a proposal was accepted?

Presenters will be notified regarding whether their proposal was accepted by February 28, 2022.

What submission materials are required?

Abstract: Please submit a title, a brief abstract describing your presentation, and the intended audience (maximum 200 words). Please include three objectives for the audience.

Bio: Please submit a brief (short paragraph) biography describing your background and experience with OCD and/or OCD-Related disorders.

SAVE THE DATE: 6th Annual OCD Conference Saturday 4/30 (virtual)

OCD SoCal is hosting our upcoming 6th Annual OCD Conference (virtually) on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 9am – 6pm PST!

Last year over 1,100 people attended live and watched the recordings from our conference—from all over the world! Attendees enjoyed talks from therapists, psychiatrists, people with OCD + their family members & OCD advocates!

Talks including presentations on navigating OCD treatment, medications, family accommodation, skin picking, hair pulling, body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), new OCD treatments, exposure and response prevention therapy, OCD apps, virtual treatment, OCD documentaries & more!

4) Learning objectives (3) for the audience of your presentation
5) Brief biography (short paragraph) describing your background and experience with OCD and/or OCD-Related disorders. If you have previous speaking experience, please include a summary.
6) CV if you are a clinician or are interested in providing CEUs.

How do I submit my proposal?
We prefer that speakers submit their proposal information here via Google Forms. However, if you do not have a Google-based email address and are unable to access the form, you may also email your submission to info@ocdsocal.org.

When is the deadline to submit my proposal?
The deadline to submit a proposal is February 1, 2022.

When will I hear if my proposal was accepted?
Presenters will be notified regarding whether their proposal was accepted by February 28, 2022.
